OMICS APPROACHES TO EARLY LIFE PROGRAMMING OF ADULT HEALTH
When: 16-19 June 2026
Where: work in progress
Summary
The area of “Omics in early life” offers a wealth of fascinating and impactful topics for the exploration of how can be programmed adult health and a healthy longevity.
The 6th European Summer School on Nutrigenomics will hold potential for advancing scientific knowledge for improving healthcare outcomes in early life and develop key strategies that can contribute to long-term well-being.
Within this area, the following topics will be covered:
Transcriptomics in Brain Development: Investigating RNA expression changes in neural tissues during critical periods of brain growth and their implications for neurodevelopmental disorders.
Epigenomics in Early Development: Examining how early-life environmental exposures (e.g., diet, stress, toxins) shape epigenetic modifications and influence gene expression throughout life.
Microbiomics and Gut Health: Investigating the establishment of the microbiome during infancy and its impact on immune system development, metabolism, and long-term health.
Metabolomics and lipidomics n Neonatal Nutrition: Studying the metabolic and lipid profiles and their connections to growth, cognitive development, and disease prevention.
